CORE Project is breaking gender barriers

KOTUMU is one of the cooperatives using Internet at work to improve their welding skills and ultimately raise their income. It is specialising in welding services in Rwanda and has doubled its income. The cooperative is currently able to sell their products through online marketing following a training in online marketing members received from World Vision Rwanda with support of CORE Project.

For Charlotte who has been a KOTUMU member for one year, the ICT training and equipment received brought about significant changes both in her skills and the income she received. Charlotte was able to access internet at her workplace to get information that helped her improve her welding skills and production quality.
She also noticed that being connected to internet meant the cooperative was connected to much bigger markets; not only in Rusizi district, in Western Rwanda but even beyond.
